The Hunter Stoves Group have launched a new multi-fuel burning range of stoves it will be in the Cleanburn range.  The others in this group are the ever popular Lovenholm and Skagen models, this beautifully sleek, curved stove is the epitome of modern design.  The Irish website Fastglass  www.fastglass.ie  supply stove glass, and replacement stove glass for all makes of the popular Hunter stoves.

The Strömstad 5 does not only look stunning but has the statistics to match. As well as being DEFRA approved, it has a 4.7kW nominal output with a significant heat range of between 3.6-7kW and combines a high efficiency of 78% and impressively low CO emission of 0.23%.

The clearance distances to combustible materials are a remarkable 20mm from the rear of the stove and 180mm from the sides. When freestanding, it is also approved to sit on a 12mm hearth.

How to make the best use of glass in heating your home

Now nowadays glass plays a prominent role in the production of sustainable energy.
Stoves have played a huge in Ireland and England in showing that the burning of renewable fuels like wood and add to the protection of the environment.  Stove glass allows to radiate out into a room making it an efficient source of heating.  Also, replacement stove glass is readily available in the case of breakage.

Another excellent use of glass or a variant of glass is the installation of solar panels.  The roof of your house could be used to save you money. By installing  Solar panels your home can generate clean, green renewable energy from daylight - a free natural resource Solar PV, also called Photovoltaic.  The sun's energy converts daylight into renewable energy. The electricity is then consumed within the home, reducing your need to buy energy from a supplier. When a Solar PV system produces more energy than a home needs, the extra energy can go to your immersion heater. Solar PV is not to be confused with Solar Thermal - while Solar Thermal heats water only, Solar PV gives you free electricity and hot water.

Generally,

a home is allowed up to 12 sq. m of Solar Panels on the roof without having to seek planning permission.
